More than a frequency — we're the voice, the music and the stories of the communities we call home.
Newcastle FM was born from a simple belief: that every community deserves a microphone of its own. What began as a small group of volunteers with a passion for local storytelling has grown into a fully licensed community broadcaster reaching across the Amajuba District.
From our studio on Allen Street, we broadcast the music, languages and conversations of Newcastle, Madadeni, Osizweni, Dannhauser and Utrecht — in isiZulu and English, by the people, for the people.
Today we're a trusted source for local news, a launchpad for young broadcasting talent, and a stage for the artists, businesses and changemakers who make the Amajuba District special.
On air since 2004

Community first · Truth & fairness · Inclusion & ubuntu · Local pride · Youth development · Independence.

As a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) and Non-Profit Organisation, we reinvest every cent into programming, training and community projects — never private profit.
